Lead & Bronze Statue Repairs

Lead Statues Repairs

Lead statues damage easily due to the soft nature of the material. Often damage occurs as the metal weakens leading to a pinpoint holes that allow water to penetrate on the interior of the sculpture. Lead, like bronze tends to darken when exposed to the elements. The patina may exhibit black streaks throughout the statue. Other visible damage on a lead statue is crumbling of the base, fingers, noses and toes. While this type of damage seems irreparable. It is repairable by fabricating the missing features, cleaning the statue and sealing it from the elements periodically .

White Aluminum Statues

White aluminum statues are very difficult to repair but not impossible. One example of a difficult repair is that of a 10 foot Elk that was brought to our shop because of extensive damage to its legs and body. We reassembled the Elk, cleaned the statue and reapplied the patina. Below are photographs of the Elk Statue before and after its repair was completed.
